ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Educational Qualification – Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Age Limit – Age should be not below 20 years and not above 28 years

NIMCET MCAENTRANCE 2024

National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are Institutes of National Importance and are Centrally Funded Technical Institutes. The NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), is a National Level Test conducted by NITs for admission to their Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program.

The admission to the MCA program to the ten NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Patna, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), and Warangal and IIIT Bhopal for the year 2024-25 is based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-2024 only.

The Curriculum and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program offered by NITs are designed considering the needs of different Information Technology firms in India and abroad. MCA graduates have high potential for jobs in the IT Sector.

NIMCET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be an Indian citizen

Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST) in (i) BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time with Mathematics/Statistics/Equivalent subject as one of the subjects from a recognized University.

SC/ST candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in (i) BSc/BSc (Hons)/BCA/BIT of minimum 3 years full-time with Mathematics/Statistics/Equivalent subject as one of the subjects from a recognized University.

Students with BE/B Tech or equivalent from a recognized University can appear for the exam.

Aspirants who will be appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply for NIMCET 2024

Aspirants who have completed or completed a degree in three years BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT from Open Universities can also apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

The percentages of marks / CGPA in the qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks / grade points obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any. The aggregate of marks / grade points secured in all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by authority for deciding the NIMCET eligibility.
